In this vegetarian slice we use the classic and moreish combination of potato and cheese. Here we have red potato from Panchgani along with marinated onion, capers and pickled chilli on a cheesy white sauce made with cheddar & montasio. We finish it off with fresh mozzarella and chilli oil. Delicious!
What & How of this style of pizza...
Roman Style Pizza, often also known as Pizza al Taglio originated in Rome in the 60s.
It's usually baked in rectangular trays and sold by the slice/ square as a stellar on-the-go snack. Generally, this style of pizza has a thick yet light & airy crust with a soft top & crispy base. And owing to the sturdiness of the base, it's a fantastic vehicle for a variety of delicious toppings.
Our iteration is 100% sourdough with a single day ferment to keep it close to the light & airy original.
This pizza square has great shelf life and can be stored in an airtight container, refrigerated, for upto 3 days. To best enjoy this, zap it in the microwave for 20-30 seconds followed by a quick trip to a hot pan for a wonderfully crispy base.
It can also go directly on a warm pan with a lid for 4-5minutes. A spray of water will help refresh it.
Add a salad and dessert to turn this into a full meal!
