Stollen is a traditional Christmas bread of German origin usually laden with candied citrus, raisins & almonds.
This year, in a slight departure from our Classic Stollen, we have also made a version loaded with toasted hazelnuts, belgian chocolate chunks and of course, candied citrus which we make in-house. The marzipan rope running through the bread also has a hint of hazelnut through it. As per usual, the dough goes through an overnight fermentation for better flavor. From soaking the add ins to mixing, resting, shaping, baking and again resting (the flavor improves as it 'ripens'), this is truly a labour of love.
Chocolatey, citrusy and nutty, this bread slightly warmed up is beautiful with a hot cup of coffee and lends an instant festive vibe.
Available in a medium size of 450-500 gms and good for 2 people (if sharing is your thing). It has a great shelf life. Also, brilliant as a gift as we ship this all over India.
