This cake will remind you of those Swiss orange flavoured chocolates that we had our cousins bring from overseas. But that's not where we started from. We took inspiration from an American classic, Boston Cream pie & ended up here. Our little twist on this cake combines layers of a light and fruity Orange Olive oil sponge with a thick filling of vanilla custard. All this is topped off with a creamy Belgian chocolate ganache. A bite through all the layers will give you a delightful mix of sweet, citrusy, creamy & chocolatey.
Although perfect for an occasion, it does very well as a quiet individual celebration (especially in these times). We can also confirm that leftovers, if any, pair very well with a cup of coffee or a glass of port late at night.
