We are bringing you something very simple yet something that evokes nostalgia on another level. I reckon, most of us had desserts in our childhood that involved cream and biscuits, usually a marie. And then we tasted Serradura recently - it hit the spot and how!
Turns out Serradura or sawdust pudding (one of my fav words) has a Portugese lineage and is a popular old school dessert in Portugal and their esrtwhile colonies including Goa and Macau. I have to confess that despite being to Goa a number of times, I never tasted it there so clearly I have been living under a rock.
But now we know and we are eager to bring it to you. This dessert is simplicity itself. Here we add a touch of mascarpone and vanilla paste to the cream and we bake our own wholegrain biscuits. Its creamy, light, nutty and just sweet enough.
Comes in a single serve (that's how its usually sold) but try stopping at one!
