We have named this the Toffee Break for two reasons. This is a combination of bread and a cake & is perfect for a coffee break!
We were inspired by Danish style coffee cakes which are made with tender, buttery bread dough and are topped with a butter & sugar mixture right before baking. Here we have modified our Hokkaido style bread dough which is already soft and tender and use that as base. On top we have used a mixture of dark brown sugar, butter & a tiny bit of almond butter plus slivers of toasted almond. It's a delightful combination - try it!
